Workshop – “Curriculum Structure”

7-10 May, 2008, Dublin 

The second meeting of the partner group representatives working on Tempus Project “Developing new applied biosciences and biotechnology curricula at Tbilisi State University” was held at Dublin Institute of Technology on 7-10 May, 2008. 
Dr. Nino Inasaridze, Assistant .Professor Marine Shengelia, Associate .Professor  David Gamrekeli, Prof. Steve Neill, Dr. Egils Praulitis, Dr. Julie McLeod, Dr. Paul Mathias, Dr. Patrick McHale, Dr. Christos Dordas and Prof. Apostolos Karalazos attended the workshop.
Dr.M.Shengelia and Dr.D.Gamrekeli presented the working drafts on Curriculum Structure and Programme Management Structure prepared by the TSU team. After receiving the comments made by participants  working group discussions and intensive group sessions on curriculum structure and management schemes took place. The underlying principles of modular teaching at different levels were considered in details. Special emphasis was made on necessity of changes in the management approach that provides successful implementation of the program. A plan for future activities was fixed up. Next day the participants of the meeting were given detailed tour of DIT teaching facilities. They also visited study research laboratories and libraries at DIT.
