Marketing
The marketing strategy of the New Program is targeted at applicants as well as potential stakeholders. Marketing communications concern the sphere of TSU-Industry linkage. In the context of education program, applicant attraction strategy means launch of large-scale promotional campaign throughout the country that involve activities aimed to: make people aware of the new program; raise young people’s interest in Applied Biosciences; highlight good prospects in practical application of Biotechnology; attract students to a new specialty; disseminate gained experience and mutually beneficiary components of the program broadly across TSU and among adjacent specialties of other Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs). All the above steps ultimately serve to the popularization of Biosciences and Biotechnology.
Program intake announcement was preceded by time- and labor-consuming preparatory work. A development plan for marketing strategy was designed at the outset. The components of the working plan included: an exploratory study of applicant market; development of partnership schemes with other Georgian HEIs; regular meetings with school-leavers throughout the country and advertising novelty of the new program among higher-grade students; attracting applicants via ‘open-day’ and ‘round table’ meetings; holding introductory workshops at regional educational institutions.
The wide scale marketing campaign is being implemented for now, that provides meetings of the staff engaged in the program with representatives of Tbilisi State Medical University, Batumi State University, Kutaisi State University, Telavi State University, Georgian Agrarian University and others. The website has been created within the frame of the project that provides not only essential data about the program, but it also contains interactive applications both for students and academicians. Brochures/leaflets and a poster have been recently printed and a video clip filmed.
