The New Bachelor Programme
"Applied Biosciences and Biotechnology"

Teaching Laboratories

Undergraduate students enrolled in any of the three subprogrammes (Healthcare Biotechnology, Agrobiotechnology and Food Biotechnology) of the new program in Applied Biosciences and Biotechnology will be taught and trained in well-equipped teaching laboratories with modern scientific-research facilities.

The laboratories are suitable for teaching modern technologies like the PCR (Polimerase Chain Reaction) method; cell culturing and different cell culture manipulations; working with HPLC (High Pressure Liquid Chromatography) and other chromatography systems, etc. The students will get experienced in the use of the methods for medical/pharmaceutical and agrarian/food biotechnology purposes. The students will get acquanted with the methods used in: genetic and molecular biology researches; physical and chemical analyses; immunological, histological, morphological and other diagnostic activities. They will also be able to use microbiology and biotechnology methods.

Field-specific methods (applied in Healthcare Biotechnology, Agrobiotechnology or Food Biotechnology) will be introduced to the students at particular study levels that will help them to gain laboratory-working skills, specialise in narrow fields and find relevant jobs after they the graduation from the university.
